How to Take IGF-1: Forms and Dosage

How to Take IGF-1: Forms and Dosage

Determining the correct dosage of IGF-1 is crucial to unlocking its benefits without causing concern, especially for those new to the supplement. Both men and women can benefit from adding it to their regimen, but you may have questions about the forms and dosages it comes in before using it.

Some believe higher intakes of IGF-1 can amplify its positive effects on athletic performance and overall health. Yet, the question arises: Could excessive consumption lead to toxicity? Learn more about the recommended IGF-1 dosage and the potential risks of overconsumption below.

The Role of IGF-1 Supplements

IGF-1, or Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, is a hormone similar to insulin. It plays an important role in childhood growth and continues to be important into adulthood despite its natural decrease in production. IGF-1 is produced in the liver as a response to growth hormone (GH) levels, stimulating tissue growth and development.

Supplements containing IGF-1 are used to support muscle growth, post-workout and injury recovery, and overall health and wellness. It's important for those considering IGF-1 supplementation to understand the forms available and the appropriate dosages for their needs.

Muscle Growth and Recovery

One of the biggest benefits of IGF-1 supplementation is boosting muscle growth and improving recovery. IGF-1 stimulates protein synthesis and helps in the proliferation of satellite cells, which are crucial for repairing and building muscle tissue. This makes it a helpful supplement for athletes and bodybuilders looking to improve their performance and recovery times.

If you work out regularly and notice weight gain while taking IGF-1, there's a good chance it's from muscle growth rather than unwanted water weight.

Anti-Aging Effects

IGF-1 is associated with anti-aging properties because it promotes cell regeneration and repair. By supporting cell health and vitality, IGF-1 supplementation may help mitigate some of the effects of aging, potentially improving skin health, bone density, skeletal muscle growth, and overall wellness.

Weight Management and Metabolic Health

IGF-1 can influence body composition by affecting muscle growth and fat metabolism. It may help reduce fat mass and improve metabolic rate, making it a common supplement for weight management and metabolic health.

Support for Joint and Bone Health

The growth-promoting effects of IGF-1 extend to bones and joints, potentially supporting their health and reducing the risk of conditions such as osteoporosis. By promoting the regeneration of cartilage and bone tissue, IGF-1 supplements offer benefits for individuals concerned about joint health and bone density.

IGF-1 & Nutronics Labs’ Liposome Delivery System

IGF-1 is an essential protein that helps cells grow and repair themselves. It's especially important in medical treatments that aim to help with muscle loss, increase bone strength, and improve brain health. However, getting IGF-1 effectively into the body where it's needed can be tricky because it can easily break down or not reach the right spot.

Nutronics Labs’ delivery system solves this problem. Imagine liposomes as tiny bubbles made from fats (lipids) that can carry IGF-1 safely inside them. These small bubbles protect IGF-1 from breaking down and help deliver it directly to where it's needed in the body, like a targeted package. This method ensures that more IGF-1 can do its job effectively in the body, increasing the success of the supplement for muscle, bone, or brain issues.

The Difference Between IGF-1 Sprays and Other Supplement Forms

Nutronics Labs is the first company to turn deer antler extract into a spray. Now, after 25 years and thousands of satisfied clients, we're the world's leading retailer of Deer Antler Spray. We're passionate about our product and the people we help. We only deliver high-quality products that allow people worldwide to reach their highest potential.

IGF-1 sprays are the most efficient, boasting a remarkable 98% absorption rate, surpassing the low 20-30% absorption rate of powders and pills. This means that the most effective way to experience your desired gains is through the use of an IGF-1 spray

The Forms of IGF-1

At Nutronics Labs, we provide high-quality IGF-1 supplements derived from deer antler velvet, a natural source. IGF-1 sprays are a popular form of IGF-1 supplementation because they allow direct absorption into the bloodstream through the mucosal lining of the mouth. This can offer a more immediate uptake than digestive processes allow for capsules or tablets.

How to Take: For IGF-1 sprays, the recommended method is to spray directly under the tongue. Hold the liquid there for 20 seconds before swallowing to allow for maximum absorption.

Dosage: Dosages can vary depending on the concentration of IGF-1 in the spray and the individual's goals and needs. It's essential to follow the product-specific recommendations provided on our website.

IGF-1 Capsules

Capsules offer a convenient and measured way to take IGF-1, with the active ingredients released during digestion.

How to Take: IGF-1 capsules should be taken with water and may be consumed with or without food, depending on personal preference and digestive comfort.

Dosage: As with sprays, the dosage for capsules will depend on the specific product and individual needs. Always adhere to the guidelines on the product label.

What Is the Recommended IGF-1 Dosage?

When starting with IGF-1 supplementation, beginning with the lowest suggested dose and monitoring your body's response is best. This approach lets you gauge how your body reacts to IGF-1 and adjust the dosage as needed under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

Although there is no definitive dose rate for IGF-1 and deer antler velvet, 500 mg per day has been recommended for those seeking the traditional health benefits provided by these substances.

1500 mg per day is recommended for performance enhancement benefits. Our IGF-1 sprays and capsules can be taken using the same dosage considerations. No matter why you take IGF-1, split your dosage throughout the day according to the label instructions rather than all at once.

Avid users of IGF-1 extracts say the best times to take the supplement are when they first wake up and in the evening before they settle down for the night. It can provide a nice energy boost first thing in the morning or aid in physical recovery while you sleep.

As you start your IGF-1 journey, we advise starting with a low dosage and gradually increasing it as you go. Like most natural supplements, the effects tend to be cumulative. The most significant benefits of IGF-1 and deer antler velvet usually occur within 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use.

Before taking any IGF-1 supplements or deer antler velvet extract, consult with your doctor. IGF-1 is beneficial when integrated into your diet; however, it should never be used to replace prescription medication or proper nutrition.

Considerations for Supplementation

While IGF-1 supplements from reputable sources like Nutronics Labs are generally considered safe for healthy adults, it's important to consult a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially for individuals with underlying health conditions or who are taking medication. Supplements, especially those like IGF-1, can have potent biological effects, and their safety and efficacy should be thoroughly evaluated on an individual basis.

Furthermore, the quality and source of IGF-1 supplements are crucial. Supplements are not regulated as strictly as prescription medications, leading to potential variability in potency and purity. Choosing a reputable source, like Nutronics Labs, to guarantee that products have been tested for safety and efficacy.

What the Studies Say About IGF-1 and Deer Antler Velvet

This information raises the question: Is there a maximum dose of IGF-1 and deer antler velvet that people should not exceed? Furthermore, can it be toxic if that maximum dose is exceeded?

This question was answered from a research paper conducted by Dr. Sonpon Wanwimolruk, Dr. H. Hugh Zhang, and Dr. Peter Coville at the School of Pharmacy University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, trial monitor Dr. James M. Suttie at the Ag Research Invermay Agriculture Centre, Mosgiel, New Zealand completed in December of 1998, Varnz document, v.36.

Several types of toxicity studies were conducted in this experiment. One was acute oral toxicity in which five female rats were given doses of 5, 50, 500, and 2,000 milligrams for every 2.2 pounds of body weight. The animals were given velvet antler in the form of a powder for seven days straight. No gross pathology findings were determined, and none of the rats lost body weight after dosing with deer antler velvet. The animals showed no signs of toxicity or behavioral changes at the highest dosage of 2,000 milligrams per 2.2 pounds of body weight.

Another phase of this study was the subchronic oral toxicity portion. In this phase, velvet deer antler at a concentration of 1,000 milligrams for every 2.2 pounds of body weight was given orally to a group of rats for 90 days. The results showed no signs of toxicity or behavioral changes. No significant differences in the average weights of the adrenals, kidneys, or brains were observed in the treated rats compared to the control rats.

Pathological examination did not reveal any unusual results in the morphology of the heart, lungs, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, and spleen. There were differences in the average liver weights between the treated velvet antler group and the control group, with a lower weight, 12.9, compared to the average control liver weight of 14.5.

Thus, at enormous intake levels, which would be equivalent to an adult man at 200 pounds of body weight taking one-half pound of velvet deer antler per day, there can be an abnormal liver response. This is an enormous difference compared to the recommended dose of between 3 and 4 250-milligram capsules per day or, with the new liquid concentrate with the liposome delivery system, 3 to 6 sprays per day.

Without any other considerations, the economic constraints alone of taking one-half pound of velvet deer antler per day would bankrupt most people within a week. From a clinical point of view, Dr. Peter Yoon, a Korean doctor of medicine, has stated that he has not seen a case of overdosing with velvet antler, nor has he seen any severe toxic side effects.

Dr. Peter Yoon continued explaining that if too much product is given, people have a mild stomach upset and stop taking it. This clinically would limit the use of the product before any possible liver toxicity could be induced.

So, can velvet antler extract be toxic? The answer is yes. Any substance, including water, can be toxic if given in high enough doses. However, exceeding the recommended dosages by a factor of 300 or even 400% will not be anywhere near a dose that could induce toxicity.

In fact, velvet deer antlers could lead to enhanced metabolism in general. They could preserve and renew injured organs and tissues and help accelerate healing and recovery from injury. They also could assist the immune system and the ability of white blood cells to destroy invading microbes.

While accomplishing all of this, it may also have an anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic, and anti-stress effect. Doctors in Korea, China, and Russia have used velvet deer antler to work towards being an antihypertensive medication, and it has been shown to potentially help ameliorate problems associated with impotency in men and infertility in women.

While IGF-1 plays a vital role in human growth and development, there are potential adverse effects when levels are excessively high, either due to medical conditions, supplementation, or an allergic reaction. Remember, personal health and safety should always come first, so be sure to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning any new supplement.
